Kristen Weldon Joins Cibus Capital as Partner and Head of Natural Capital

The senior appointment signals Cibus’ commitment to natural capital in its current and future strategies

November 2023, London UK – Cibus Capital LLP (‘Cibus’), the sustainable food and agriculture investment firm, is delighted to announce that Kristen Weldon has joined as a Partner in the new position of Head of Natural Capital[1].

Cibus advises on investments across the entire agricultural supply chain through two strategies, private equity mid-market growth/buyout investments and late-stage venture ag-tech and food tech investments. In this new role for the firm, Kristen will focus on the integration of natural capital across Cibus’ existing strategies as well as the launch of future strategies dedicated to natural capital. Kristen has also become a member of the Firm’s Investment Advisory Committee.

Kristen joins with a wealth of multi-strategy investment experience with expertise in sustainability, impact and private markets investment. Prior to joining Cibus, Kristen was in the Office of the Chief Investment Officer and Global Head of Sustainable Investing for BlackRock Alternatives investment platform where she was responsible for instilling a firmwide sustainable investing strategy across the private equity, infrastructure, real estate, hedge funds and credit businesses with a focus on the energy transition, natural climate solutions and carbon markets. Prior to Blackrock, Kristen was on the Executive Group of Louis Dreyfus Company, where she launched the Company’s venture and growth equity investment activities in ag-tech and food technology. She also held the title of Head of Food Innovation and Downstream Strategy, with a focus on alternative proteins, aquaculture and specialty commodities. Prior to this, Kristen spent 13 years at Blackstone, where she was a Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of Hedge Fund Solutions, London, and led the global commodity strategy. Kristen previously worked at JP Morgan in New York and London.
